Save Hoi Ha Wan !!!!
The “heaven
of ecosystem” is now facing a number of unprecedented threats. Although there
are laws to protect the bay from human intervention, it seems that it is not
enough to deter all illegal activities, including the stealing of coral and
illegal sightseeing boats. Recently, extensive death of marine life happened in
Hoi Ha Wan. Many conservationists claim that the marine environment in Hoi Ha is
being contaminated and the AFCD should review their environmental
protection policies of Hoi Ha Wan in order to prevent the issue from becoming
more serious.
Since 2010 Tai Long Sai Wan incident, the government promised not to include land within the protection of country parks for village housing. However, the government’s recently launched planning map of Hoi Ha Wan still included substantial land for the construction of village house.
