The secret of Tiu Keng Leng and Devil's Peak
Tiu Keng Leng, also Known as Rennie's Mill, is one of the places in Hong Kong that has incredible and yet forgotten history.

Now the time has changed to 1949. After KMT lost the civil war in 1949, there were many KMT soldiers and pro-KMT Chinese fled to Tiu Keng Leng from the communist. They settle here temporarily and waiting a chance to strike back. Of course we know that the chance never came, but not many people know that the president of the Republic of China, Ma Ying-jeou, was born in Tiu Keng Leng in 1950. Before 1997, the old resident would celebrate the national day of the Republic of China on every 10 OCT. Therefore, Tiu Keng Leng was called "Little Taiwan"

At the top of Tiu Keng Leng, there military facility where is unknown to people. It was called the Fortress of Devil's Peak. It was built by colonial government in 1898 after the Opium War. The fortress has defended Hong Kong for over 100 years. Now it is abandoned and vanished in the memory of Hong Kong people along with the secret of Tiu Keng Leng.
How to get to there: Exit A of Tiu Keng Leng MTR station, then walk to the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery, the Fortress is near the Cemetery. Opening time: 24 hours a day and 7 days a week |
